Accounting Fundamentals introduces the language of business using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and procedures for proprietorships and partnerships using double-entry accounting. Emphasis is placed on accounting principles as they relate to both manual and automated financial systems. This course involves understanding, analyzing, and recording business transactions and preparing, analyzing, and interpreting financial reports as a basis for decision-making.
INTRODUCTION TO BUSINESS

Introduction to Business provides an overview of business and the role that business plays in economic, social, and political environments. The importance and application of business etiquette and ethics will be covered in addition to looking at business from a consumer’s point of view and focusing on good financial management.
MANAGEMENT FUNDAMENTALS

Management Fundamentals focuses on the roles and responsibilities of managers as well as opportunities and challenges of ethically managing a business in the free enterprise system. This course builds students’ knowledge in regards to team building; ethical leadership; problem solving steps and processes; financial analysis; and laws affecting businesses.
PERSONAL FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Personal Financial Responsibility helps students build skills in financial responsibility and decision making in regards to defining personal needs, wants, and goals; identifying sources of income, saving and investing; understanding banking and budgeting; record-keeping; managing risk; understanding insurance; and managing credit card debt.
